If you are a frequent traveler, you may need to use an International prepaid debit card. Both VISA and Mastercard offers prepaid cards. You will need to pick a bank that offers the best features, and then apply for one. Here is how to submit an application.

1) Never mind credit scores. – You don’t need to have great credit scores to apply for an International prepaid card. Such cards are meant to help control your spending. You won’t be slapped with high interest rates for late payments because you don’t owe the bank any money. Yet you get to enjoy all the benefits of a traditional credit card. Since you are spending money that you have, the banks undertake no risk at all. So they do not check your credit scores when you apply for a prepaid card. In fact, once you submit an application, it’s almost always approved.

2) Make sure that you are of valid age. – To qualify, you need to be at least 18 years of age (depending on the country that you are in). If you are below 18 years and above 16, you need an adult to sign up with you. A responsible adult is needed to make sure that the applicant knows what he or she is signing up for.

Once your debit card application has been approved, the card will arrive in your mail within a few business days. You can use the card once you reload the account. You can do so via numerous ways – bank transfers, PayPal transfers, ACH transfers, etc. Once you have a positive balance in your account, you can bring the card along when you travel and use it Internationally (just like a normal credit card).
